Home Alone Pet Service

Home Alone Pet Service has been family-owned since 2006 and covers Logan Square, Humboldt Park, Bucktown, Wicker Park and Avondale, plus what it calls surrounding areas. It publishes no street address.

Published prices:

• 30-minute walk: $22 for one dog, $27 for two
• 60-minute walk: $35 for one dog, $40 for two
• Before 9am, after 5pm or weekends +$10; holidays +$15
• Boarding $65 a day ($90 for two dogs)

Note what the boarding is: dogs stay in the company's own home, not yours, so this is not in-home pet sitting. Walks are for dogs from the same household, two at most.

The company says it is bonded and insured. It does not say whether walkers are background-checked or whether visits come with GPS or photo updates.
