About
The first Andersonville venue in this directory. Irish bar and restaurant on Clark with a hundred-deep beer list, open from noon and from 11am at weekends.
Amenities
An Irish bar and restaurant on the Clark Street strip, doing comfort food and a beer list a hundred deep. It is the first Going Out listing in Andersonville — a neighborhood this directory already covers for vets and groomers but had nowhere to eat with a dog.
Dogs are reported, not published. do312's dog-friendly patio guide names it as a dog-friendly spot for Irish comfort food. Lady Gregory's own site covers its hours, kitchen times and brunch in detail and says nothing at all about dogs or outdoor seating, so the dog welcome here is do312's claim rather than the restaurant's. Worth confirming at the door.
It opens earlier than almost anything in the Bars and Patios categories. Noon Monday through Friday and 11am at weekends, with the kitchen running right through to 9:30pm or later. That makes it one of the few places on this site where a dog walk can end in a sit-down lunch rather than a wait for a bar to open — The Bar on Buena in Uptown and Bucktown Pub, both added the same day, do not open until late afternoon.
Weekend brunch runs 11am to 3pm. Last call is 10:30pm Sunday through Wednesday, 11pm Thursday, 11:30pm Friday and Saturday, and the kitchen closes an hour or so before that.
The beer list is the reason to come: Metropolitan Krankshaft Kölsch and others are poured in 5oz, 10oz and 16oz measures, which is unusual and useful.
Chicago's rules for dogs at a place that serves food — outdoor only, with its own street entrance — are explained on the Patios and Restaurants page.
