About
A Clark Street restaurant north of Wrigley Field, home to Greenstar Brewing. Closed Tuesdays on winter hours, and the bar stays open an hour after the kitchen.
Closed Tuesdays, and the bar runs an hour past the kitchen
Both facts come from Uncommon Ground's own site, and both are the kind of thing that decides a trip.
The Tuesday closure is labelled as winter hours, which reads as a seasonal arrangement rather than a permanent one — worth re-checking in spring. And the site's own note is that the bar remains open one hour after the kitchen, so the closing times below are when food stops, not when the lights go out.
What it is
A restaurant on Clark Street a few blocks north of Wrigley Field, housing Greenstar Brewing, which its own site describes as an organic brewery. Its site lists one Chicago location, this one.
What it publishes, and what it does not
Its own website gives the address, the phone number and the hours, and says nothing about dogs.
The dog welcome here is do312's, whose dog-friendly patio guide names Uncommon Ground among its Lakeview venues. That is a source this directory accepts for whether a venue welcomes dogs; it is not the restaurant speaking. If the visit depends on it, call 773-929-3680 — and ask specifically where a dog may sit, since outdoor seating is what the city permits and the restaurant does not describe its own.
Chicago Municipal Code 4-8-031 allows dogs at a food establishment only in a designated outdoor area with its own street entrance, with water permitted and food not. The Patios and Restaurants page explains the code and why so many good patios still say no.
Lost dog? Chicago Animal Care and Control at 2741 S Western is the city's open-admission shelter and the first place to look.
