About
Pour-your-own beer hall on Ashland with a dog-friendly patio. One of the few Chicago venues that explains its own dog policy, and explains it correctly.
A warehouse beer hall where you pour your own from a wall of taps, with an adjacent patio.
The dog situation, in the venue's own words: "Dogs are allowed on the patio. (Bring them!)" — and not in the beer hall, because there is a full-service kitchen inside. Enter through the main entrance and head out to the patio.
Why that wording matters. It is a plain-English statement of exactly what Chicago's dog-friendly-area ordinance requires: outdoor only, because a kitchen makes the interior a food-preparation area. Almost no Chicago venue explains this; District Brew Yards does, which is why this listing quotes it. If you have ever been turned away from a patio you thought was dog-friendly, this is usually why. The full rule is on the Patios & Restaurants category page.
