Gemini answers the question itself

Its own website says "Gemini's patio is dog-friendly." Four words, from the restaurant, naming the patio.

That is rarer than it sounds — and rarer in a specific way. A couple of restaurants on this site do publish something dog-related on their own pages: Bar Siena puts a priced "Puppy Ciao" menu on its own menu page. But a dog menu tells you a restaurant likes dogs. It does not tell you where your dog is allowed to sit, which is the only question the city ordinance actually turns on, and Bar Siena's own pages do not say. Gemini's four words answer precisely that.

Most restaurants here say nothing at all, which is why their listings have to attribute the dog claim to do312, Time Out or Choose Chicago — and say so.

And the wording lines up with the law

Chicago Municipal Code 4-8-031 permits dogs at a food establishment only in a designated outdoor area with its own street entrance, never indoors, and allows water but not food. Gemini's own sentence is scoped exactly to the patio — which is the part the code permits — so there is nothing to interpret and no gap between what the restaurant says and what it is allowed to do. Weekend brunch is the easy visit

Gemini opens at 9am on Saturday and Sunday for brunch and runs straight through to dinner. On weekdays it does not open until 4:30pm, so a daytime walk in Lincoln Park cannot end here Monday to Friday.

One honest caveat on the hours

The hours on this listing were read from Gemini's own site on 5 October 2026. On the same page, the holiday-closure notice still referred to December 2025 dates — so treat the schedule as the restaurant's published one rather than a freshly maintained one, and call 773-525-2522 if you are planning around a closing time.

Gemini does not publish whether water bowls or dog treats are offered on the patio, so bring a bowl.
