About
Cider garden on the Chicago Riverwalk, dog-friendly all the time, with a monthly Yappy Hour that raises money for dog rescues.
Amenities
A European-style beer and cider garden on the Chicago Riverwalk, below street level on the south bank of the river — and the first Going Out listing in the Loop proper.
Dogs are welcome any time, not just at events. The Chicago Loop Alliance's listing puts it plainly: "The Northman is Dog-friendly all of the time so bring those pups down to see them anytime!"
Yappy Hour. A recurring evening series, 5–8pm, with rotating drink specials and giveaways, live music and a different partner each month. Recent editions have donated 25% of Stem Cider and Farnum Hill Cider sales to One Tail At A Time — the Bucktown rescue listed elsewhere in this directory. Entry is free. Dates rotate, so check before making the trip.
It is seasonal. The garden is outdoors on the Riverwalk and its own site notes weather-dependent hours, opening daily at noon in season. Do not plan a February visit.
On the map pin: the Riverwalk has no ordinary street address, so the pin here is set to the riverside at Wacker and Columbus. Follow the stairs or ramp down from Wacker Drive.
