The Peninsula Chicago

The Peninsula is on Superior Street, just east of Michigan Avenue.

The fee is per pet, per stay, and tiered by weight, in the hotel's own words: $350 plus tax for pets 30 pounds and under and $500 plus tax for pets between 31 and 50 pounds. The hotel does not publish a separate weight limit; its tiers simply stop at 50 lbs, so ask before booking a larger dog. A pet waiver is signed on arrival.

What the money buys: a welcome amenity and bed, an in-room dining menu for pets, dog walking by the hotel's pages, in-room dog massage from The Peninsula Spa, and 24-hour emergency vet care. The hotel notes some pet amenities cost extra.

Not published: the maximum number of pets, and whether a dog may be left alone in the room.
