Urban Pooch Training & Fitness Center — Self-Service Dog Wash

Urban Pooch Training & Fitness Center — Self-Service Dog Wash

Urban Pooch's second Chicago facility, at 5400 N Damen Ave in the Bowmanville stretch of Lincoln Square. This is the location with the self-service wash — the Ravenswood store does not have one.

Why a self-wash matters in Chicago: most apartments have a standard tub with a low rim and no handheld sprayer, which turns washing a 60-pound dog into a two-person job and a wet bathroom. A self-serve station gives you a raised tub at waist height, a proper sprayer, shampoo, and towels you do not have to launder.

Hours: call before you go. Urban Pooch's site advertises later evening hours at this location than at Ravenswood, but does not publish a full weekly schedule for the self-wash specifically, and wash stations sometimes close before the store does. Confirm by phone, especially for a weeknight visit.

Pricing is not published on the site. Ask for the per-wash rate and whether they sell a punch card — most self-wash operations do, and it usually pays off by the fourth or fifth wash.

Also at this location: enrichment daycare, dog training including agility and nose work classes, full grooming and bathing, nutritional counseling, a retail store, and PlayTime Express transport.

Getting there: Damen just north of Balmoral, on the #50 Damen bus. Easier parking than the Ravenswood location.

Address, phone and services verified from urbanpooch.com. The self-wash hours and pricing are not published anywhere on their site, which is why neither appears here — call for both.
