Places to Go

A long-standing Bucktown corner bar with an umbrella-shaded patio that a 2026 Chicago bar guide reports as dog-friendly. The pub itself publishes nothing about dogs.

A Logan Square restaurant on the boulevard, closed Tuesdays and shut between 3pm and 4:30pm every other day. Dogs on the patio are reported by do312, not by the restaurant.

A Bucktown side-street cafe open from 6:30am on weekdays, reported to hand a treat to dogs on the morning coffee run. The cafe itself publishes no dog policy.

A Ukrainian Village cocktail bar whose draw for dog owners is the back patio. The bar publishes no hours and no dog policy; the dog welcome is reported by dog guides.

An Irving Park neighborhood bar reported to welcome dogs, with occasional dog treats. Its own website publishes hours only as pictures, so this listing carries none.

A multi-level outdoor bar built among stacked shipping containers on Kinzie Street, which calls itself Chicago's largest patio. No regular hours are published anywhere — call before you set out.

A Clark Street restaurant north of Wrigley Field, home to Greenstar Brewing. Closed Tuesdays on winter hours, and the bar stays open an hour after the kitchen.

A Lincoln Park restaurant whose own website says, in four words, that its patio is dog-friendly. Weekend brunch from 9am; on weekdays it does not open until 4:30pm.

A River North Italian restaurant where two sources report a "puppy ciao" dog menu of grilled meats and dog-friendly ice cream. The restaurant itself mentions neither dogs nor a patio.

A Wells Street bar with a patio, a roof deck and a retractable roof — the first Going Out listing in Old Town. It does not open until 5pm on weekdays.

A Lincoln Park Irish pub trading at the same address since 1946, which calls itself Chicago's dog-friendly Irish pub in its own words and publishes exactly one rule: dogs must be leashed at all times.

Two patios a block off the Magnificent Mile, open from 11am or 11:30am daily — a rare downtown option that does not wait until evening.
