About
West Side daycare and boarding built for reactive and aggressive dogs — small temperament-matched groups, published prices, open seven days.
Canine Perspective
A daycare, boarding and training facility at 2926 W Lake St in East Garfield Park, on the West Side. It is the most distinctive entry in this category, for two reasons.
Hours
- Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Saturday and Sunday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Open seven days, which very few independents manage.
It takes the dogs other facilities turn away. The business is built around aggression and reactivity rehabilitation, and says so plainly — it accepts reactive and aggressive dogs, including ones that have been asked to leave other daycares. Instead of one large open playroom it runs small groups matched by temperament, and describes itself as a quiet, structured kennel rather than a high-energy one.
If you have a dog who cannot cope with a conventional daycare — or who has already been excluded from one — this is the only Chicago facility the directory has found that treats that as its speciality rather than a problem. It is also the right model for a dog who finds a room of forty dogs overwhelming even without a bite history.
They publish their prices, which almost nobody in this category does:
- Structured daycare: from $50
- Boarding: from $80
- Dog training: from $235
- Board and train programs: $1,750–$4,750
Those are starting figures, and board-and-train is a serious commitment of money and time — but knowing the range before you call is genuinely useful. Most Chicago daycares will not quote until you are on the phone.
Licensed and insured. A licensed Illinois kennel, insured and bonded — stated on their own site.
Services: structured daycare, boarding, training for aggression, reactivity and obedience, board-and-train, daycare-and-train, and door-to-door transport.
Intake is a consultation, not a form — they want to meet your dog and watch its behaviour in person before enrolling. For a reactivity-focused facility that is the right order of operations.
Not published: vaccination requirements and capacity limits. Ask about both, and about how many dogs are in a group and what the staff-to-dog ratio is.
Getting there: Lake Street at California, under the Green Line, on the #20 Madison and #52 California bus routes.
