The Tuesday and Thursday evening slots matter. Rehab is not a one-off visit — a post-surgical course typically runs weekly or twice-weekly for a couple of months. A clinic that closes at 5 every day forces you to take time off repeatedly. Two 7 PM evenings make a course of treatment survivable around a job.

Services: hydrotherapy, acupuncture, therapeutic exercise, manual therapy and massage, therapeutic laser, and shockwave therapy.

What this is for. The usual reasons a Chicago dog ends up here: recovery after cruciate or spinal surgery, arthritis management in an older dog, and mobility support for a big dog with stairs. Hydrotherapy lets a dog load its legs without carrying its full weight, which is the point of the water.

On the evidence: therapeutic exercise and hydrotherapy after orthopaedic surgery have the strongest support of anything offered here. Acupuncture, laser and shockwave are more contested — some owners report clear benefit, the published evidence in dogs is thinner. Worth asking your surgeon or primary vet which parts of a proposed plan they would prioritise.
