Dog rehab and physical therapy in Chicago
Canine rehab practices, plus general vets offering acupuncture and integrative care. Chicago has only a handful of dedicated rehab practices inside the city limits, and each is listed here.
Where the evidence is strong, and where it's thin
Hydrotherapy (including underwater treadmills) and therapeutic exercise after orthopedic surgery are well supported. Laser therapy, acupuncture and especially chiropractic have a thinner evidence base in dogs. Your own vet or surgeon is the best person to advise on what your dog needs.
Ask about credentials and cost
Recognized certifications include CCRP and CCRT for canine rehabilitation, and IVAS for veterinary acupuncture. Where a practice doesn't publish its practitioners' credentials, the listing says so — ask.
Rehab is sold as a course of sessions, so ask both the price per session and how many sessions they expect your dog to need.
